These 14K Gold segment rings work in similar function as a captive bead ring only with extra security. Held by a combination of the larger ring''s tension and by pins in which are attached between the smaller and larger piece. A large section of the ring actually detaches from the whole ring completely, making easy insertion into your piercing. To put the ring back together you will simply reconnect the pins of the smaller section, into the holes of the larger section. A great replacement to captive bead rings which often have to be bent to place in the piercing. For larger gauges such as 12 and 10 gauge, a tool will be needed to detach and reattach the section.
